VHS transfer and photo scanning

Loose printed-photo scanning: $1 per photograph, delivered as a digital image

VHS videotapes up to two hours: $30 per tape for digital video; audio cassettes up to 90 minutes: $25 per cassette for digital audio

  • These transfers create digital files. Editing a tribute from supplied digital photos or video is a separate service

What each transfer costs

Loose printed-photo scanning is $1 per photo. Playable VHS videotapes up to two hours are $30 each for transfer to digital video. Audio cassettes up to 90 minutes are $25 each for transfer to digital audio.

Send a photo of the VHS or audio cassette labels, or a rough count of your loose printed photographs. Tell me about their condition too. I’ll confirm whether I can accept them, the local handoff and the file delivery before you send originals. Ask first if anything is damaged.

What does the photo scanning rate cover?

The $1 rate covers one loose printed photograph scanned to a digital image. Tell me about fragile prints, albums or unusual print sizes before sending them so I can confirm whether the photographs are suitable for this scanning service.

What is included in VHS or audio cassette transfer?

The $30 VHS rate covers one playable videotape up to two hours, delivered as a digital video file. The separate $25 audio cassette rate covers one playable cassette up to 90 minutes, delivered as a digital audio file. I’ll check condition and delivery before accepting the originals. Ask before sending a damaged tape.

Does digitizing include editing a tribute?

No. These rates cover VHS videotape transfer, loose printed-photo scanning or audio cassette transfer to digital files. Selecting and editing digital material into a tribute, adding music or recording new interviews is separate work.
